Best Small Business CRM
Are you a small business? Having trouble getting the right CRM for managing your customers?
ETHODE is in this position right now. We are having trouble managing leads, and projects coming down the PIPE. This week we spend some time trying to find the best remotely hosted (SaaS) CRM companies out there. We found a good list but the winner is clearly Capsule CRM.
Here is a complete list of online Saas CRM’s that we tried.
- Capsule CRM (Free account will fit MOST small business needs)
- Oprius CRM (Runner up based on small number of Opportunities available in Free account)
- SalesForce
- LuxoCRM
- BatchBook
- Tactile CRM
- Relenta (Also offers a free version)
- Solve360 (Hands down BEST Interface, but plans start at $39 a month)
- ZOHO CRM
Why Did We Choose Capsule?
It’s easy. They have an outstanding feature set. This feature set is not limited to paying versions, and has all the tools a small business needs to get off of the ground with a CRM system. There are no hidden costs, nothing to install and everything to gain. This system just works well. Looks nice, has a great interface and has a GREAT free pricing structure up too 250 clients which is by far the most we’ve seen. On top of this, they do NOT, I repeat DO NOT limit the number of “opportunities” in the system on the free account making this PERFECT for those with less than 250 clients.
Absolutely a huge FAN of Capsule, now I just need to enter in all of my clients and integrate it with my Freshbooks account. Oh yeah did I mention we use Freshbooks here at ETHODE? Also, an OUTSTANDING service for accounting, couldn’t live without it.

I am amazed how many folks still don’t realize that you don’t need to pay thousands of dollars anymore for a business solution that can help you do more with less. We all have been using online solutions such as hotmail and gmail for ages now – do you know that you can do the same with an affordable online solution for your business – track your contact, sales, marketing and customer service issues all in one place and all online – no software, no hardware, no IT person – just log in from any internet connection and you have access to your information. You can also try it for free. You can learn more at http://www.SuradoCRM.com/ondemandcrm

My recommendation in looking at various CRM packages is that it’s difficult to compare crm systems against each other. It is more appropriate to try different crm systems and see how they interact with your business process. My favorite CRM package for small business is Performance Desk from Resilient Labs because it is simply designed from the bottom up for the purpose. It has all the tools you would expect to find but in a really simple to use multi-task oriented subscription package. http://www.performancedesk.com/grow.asp
Do you have recommendations for Church CRMs?
Thanks for the mention. We hear a lot about all the companies listed from customers/prospects. I guess the beauty is in the eyes of beholder
…in fact we typically recommend that out prospect take a look at this list (give or take) before making a decision. Some of our new customers go through as many as 20 different trials before signing up.
Hey Seth, that’s a great question. There are a lot of CRM’s for can be used for churches…
This might sound silly, but I use Drupal alot for Church because it gives me the granular ability to create data structures… SO I basically have unlimited capabilities to add new pieces of data to a contact.
The down side to that is all of the reporting needs to be custom.
I would suggest one of the ones in my list though, they should all do the trick and not require anything custom
Recently, we have decided to switch from Relenta to WorkForceTrack . Because it is cheaper than Relenta and has the same functions. As far as I know, they also offer some kind of discounts and localization from English to other languages. So, I am recommending you to try this
